2008 Youth Talent Search- The Stanley Agricultural Society is proud to announce that the 2008 New Brunswick Youth Talent Search final competition will be held at the Stanley Fair this year. The contest is open to non-professional performers between the ages of 13 and 21 years. In order to qualify for this final competition, performers must first compete in local events that will take place at various fairs across the province throughout the summer. The local competition for the Stanley area's representatives will take place on Thursday September 20 at the Stanley Fair. The winner of each local competition will then compete in the provincial final for the top three places on Saturday September 20 at the Stanley Fair. Business Sisson Brook Mine
What are the expected outcomes of the Project?The Sisson Brook mine is expected to extract 20,000 tonnes of ore per day and have a life expectancy of at least 30 years. Ore would be loaded by shovel and/or loaders and hauled by truck to an onsite ore processing facility. The processed mineral concentrates would be bagged and shipped by highway transport to St. John. The Project is predicted to result in 750 jobs during the 18 months of
construction and 300 jobs during operations. A variety of employment opportunities will exist, including jobs for labourers, mechanics, technicians, engineers, managers, etc. It is anticipated that many employees will be hired from local communities. Local businesses will also have the opportunity to be involved through contracts for the supply of goods and services, which will also generate further local employment.
